Case Studies

Taylor Pond | Bedford, Mass.

An innovative, green, mixed-use development, the Village at Taylor Pond incorporates office, retail, and residential uses on a 15-acre site north of Boston in Bedford, Massachusetts. Located on the Middlesex Turnpike near the Route 3 and Route 62 interchange, and a short distance from the Burlington Mall and Route 128, the Village at Taylor Pond includes 200 apartments in six buildings and 4,000 square feet of retail developed by Criterion.

Built on the previous site of the Bedford Gift Center, the Village at Taylor Pond is a model for responsible, sustainable development. The detailed attention paid to planning and creating an environmentally friendly, smart growth development has led to the Village at Taylor Pond being accepted into the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for Neighborhood Development pilot program. In addition to using green building products such as high R-value insulation and high-efficiency windows and mechanical systems, the development will reclaim nearly two acres of previously developed land along wetlands by removing impervious asphalt.

Pedestrian- and bike-friendly, the Village at Taylor Pond includes walking paths, outdoor exercise stations, and patios overlooking ponds. The residences feature open layouts, granite countertops, soaking tubs in the master baths, generous walk-in closets, crown molding in dining and living areas, and washers and dryers in each unit. Select units include lofts, fireplaces, walk-out patios, and views of the surrounding forests and ponds – all creating a distinctive living environment.

The Village at Taylor Pond is now leasing.
